We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Safety & Quality Officer on a 12 month Part-time contract, you will report to the Company Managing Director.  You will be responsible for the proactive and effective coordination of all safety related activities across the facility. The right candidate will suit someone with a background in the safety field.Your duties will include:Ensure all safety, environmental and corporate policies are compliant against the Statutory WorkSafe legislationDevelop, implement and review all safety policies and proceduresInitiate and launch safety initiatives to drive a "zero injury" objectivePerform risk assessments, manage existing/arising hazards and incidents and provide recommendations of corrective and preventative measuresManage audit activities for the facility including safety and environmental audits, generating relevant leading indicatorsCoordinate injury management via return to work plans as requiredConduct safety inductions and validations of Safe Work MethodsConduct & update Quality Assurance systems and MonitorEnsure first aid stock supplies are maintainedMaintain accurate and up-to-date accident/incident reporting system for OH&S and WorkCoverThe successful applicant will be required to administer first aid and assess the situation if requiredSkills & ExperienceOHS Degree or Diploma in Safety is highly desirableFirst Aid CertificationsExtensive knowledge of applicable State OHS legislation and experience in implementing risk management processesExcellent understanding of ISO9001 regulatory and compliance requirementsStrong understanding and contribution to development of core regulatory policies such as; Governance, Data Protection, Compliance etcExcellent written, verbal and communication skillsPositive Interpersonal & collaborative skillsComputer literate; have the ability to produce reports for stakeholders as requiredWilling to investigate and show due diligence where needed, upholding the policies and reporting requirementsAble to work strategically on long term vision and culture shiftsThis is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to really make a difference. OHS and Quality Assurance Officer-12 months Part-Time Contract

Your duties will include:

Skills & Experience

  • OHS Degree or Diploma in Safety is highly desirable
  • First Aid Certifications
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable State OHS legislation and experience in implementing risk management processes
